As a result of the port of Providence (and Narragansett bay) being closed in preparation for Hurricane Earle, 5
vessels were kept in the bay until the
Captain of the port reopened the port for traffic. 2 of those vessels were the Christian Reinauer and the Meredith Reinauer.
Although it is rare that both tugs are here in the bay at the same time it is not unheard of. What made this extraordinary
was the fact that both tugs left at the same time.
