Built by Ira S. Bushey & Sons Hull number 473 in 1940. She was purchased by the US Army before her completion in December of 1940.
Originally she was designated Net Tender (YT-36). She was re-designated YNT 4, in April of 1942.
In 1945 she was again re designated as YTB 730 (Mahaska), her final military designation was YTM-730.
She was acquired in 1970 by Thames Towboat Co. Upon her acquisition She was fitted with underwater submarine fenders by Thames Shipyard and Repair Co. She was renamed Thameship and entered service for Thames Towboat Co.
The Thameship primarily works in and around New London Harbor (New London, Ct).
