Built for Reinauer Transportation in 2001, at Alabama Shipyard of Mobile Alabama (hull #88). She was married the barge RTC 145 (140,000 bbl) which was constructed alongside the tug. The Christian Reinauer is fitted with an INTERcon coupler system. She is 118(ft) long, drawing 22(ft) and a beam of 40(ft). She is rated at 7,200 horsepower; powered by two Caterpillar 3612 diesel engines rated at 3, 600 horsepower each taken at 900 RPM turning two Rolls Royce New Generation five blade propellers. The vessel is outfitted with three CAT 3306 99kW generators, one of the three generators is dedicated to the INTERcon coupler system, each generator turns at 1,800 RPMs. The Christian Reinauer was the second Atlantic II Class ATB designed by Naval Architect Robert Hill of Ocean Tug and Barge for Reinauer, behind the Nicole Leigh Reinauer and before the Meredith C. Reinauer.
