In transition from her Sea River Paint job to her K-Sea Paint job.
The Lincoln Sea is 8,000 HP she was built for the Mobil Oil Corp. in 2000, as the Mohawk. She was transferred to Sea River Maritime after the Exxon-Mobil merger and renamed the S/R Everett. She is married with the a 140,000 BBL double hull product barge, ex-S/R NEW YORK that was designed by CT-Marine. She is equipped with an INTERcon coupler system. The Lincoln Sea was built by JM Martinac Shipyard of Tacoma, WA. The barge was constructed simultaneously at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. The tug is powered by two EMD 16-710 main engines, rated at 4,000 each taken at 900 RPMs with Reintjes reduction gears and two Rolls Royce New Generation 5-blade propellers.
Her electrical power is provided by two Northern Lights generators rated 99 KW turning 1800 RPMs. There is an additional Northern Lights generator rated 75KW dedicated to the INTERcon coupler system. The Lincoln Sea has a full SOLAS certification.
After Sea River Maritime was dissolved the S/R Everett was laid up in various locations,such as New York and Providence, RI. K-Sea acquired in her in 2004 and renamed her the Lincoln Sea. Her Barge the S/R New York was renamed the DBL 141, she is assigned to K-Sea's Atlantic Division.

Her Barge the S/R New York was renamed the DBL 141, she is assigned to K-Sea's Atlantic Division.During the winter of 2001/2002 the Lincoln Sea along with the Nicole Leigh Reinauer (Operated by Reinauer Transportation)Both are Atlantic II Class ATB's designed by Robert Hill of Ocean Tug & Barge where the only two units supplying home heating oil to the Rhode Island area. Due to constant and frequent winter storms that year, which would force other units weather bound the Nicole could make the trip despite the weather which in some cases carried winds in excess of 50 knots and seas of 20 ft. The Lincoln Sea and the Nicole never went weather bound once that winter.
